There is a coin from the first century before Christ that represents the icon of an old indian tale. Ancient as human society is, its meaning has been shared, time after time, between all the civilizations, no matter how different. The tale is about a white elephant and a snake: they are in a jungle.
The elephant is huge, pure, concrete. It represents safeness, the value of true work, the force of good intentions. It may be slow, but it knows how to reach the safe destination even passing trough a path which can be dangerous. It’s honest, protective and calm.
The snake, instead, is... a snake. Greed and insidious, it represents the superficial attraction of quick, uncertain profits, often based on evaluations made with rush, little thinking and no clear information. It could be an inspiration, but only for those who do not care about their future.
